The birth of a woodworker
Once upon a time, while backpacking through Europe, I was sitting along the Danube in Vienna when something whooshed past me. It sounded like a skateboard, but definitely was not one. Two figures disappeared into the dark, leaning into turns on what I became convinced was a literal tree branch with wheels. When I got home, I tested the theory by finding a branch with a perfect ninety degree bend and bolting longboard wheels to it. It rode shockingly well! Nine years and over a hundred miles later, that Branchboard is still rolling, which is more or less how I accidentally became a woodworker.
Whether I’m putting more wood on wheels or designing something more practical for the home, I approach all of my woodworking projects with that same level of curiosity. I explore what’s possible and let the trees do the talking.

nesting tables
My nesting tables, usually sold in sets, are a product of close client communication and collaboration. Everything from the wood to the colors to the dimensions are fully customizable, which requires a clear shared vision of the final product in order to draft and execute a precise build plan.
Bauhaus Inspired
This was a custom set of nesting tables that pushed me into new territory, integrating discreet LED lighting along the underside of each perimeter. The project required prototyping, problem-solving, and a willingness to experiment, ultimately embedding the technology in a way that enhances the form without drawing attention to itself.
custom frames
In making artworks that have some depth to them, I’ve found it surprisingly difficult to find frames that truly do them justice. That challenge pushed me to learn how to make my own. While my woodworking background helped with the fundamentals, the precision required to build well-fitting frames helped me refine my skills and create frames that are as intentional as the pieces they hold.
